Kartik Month – Bring Krishna to your home

Kartik, also known as the month of Damodara, is a month for deepening one’s connection with Lord Krishna. It is considered by devotees of Krishna to be the holiest month of the year. During this month, devotees make extra vows, perform extra spiritual activities, and generally worship Krishna in His form as a young boy, Damodara, who was once bound at the waist by His mother, Yashoda, as a punishment for His mischievous childhood pastimes.

Everyday in the month, devotees offer a ghee lamp to Lord Damodara, and sing the beautiful Damodarastakam bhajan.

This year the Kartik month will take place between 6 October – 5 November – and we have a special way for you to get involved! During this month, we will be visiting everyone’s homes to give everyone the oppurtunity to participate in the lamp offering, bhajan and kirtan to celebrate this special month.
